Preparing for Your IMW Application
Administration
When completing the application, we advise you carefully read through the questions and reflect on whether you are eligible at this point in your artistic career. The festival is looking in general, for new and emerging acts. Please aim to submit your application ahead of the deadline. please aim to submit your application ahead of the deadline to give yourself plenty of time, late applications will not be accepted.
Refine Your Sound and Identity
Develop your clear artistic identity. This includes your music, visuals, branding, and social media presence. Cohesiveness helps you stand out, and paints a clear picture of who you are as an artist, and will set you apart.
The most important thing is to ensure your music is recorded and curated to a professional standard. Ireland Music Week focuses on showcasing talent to international music industry professionals, so having well written, recorded, produced and mastered recordings will help you demonstrate your potential on the global stage.
Have a Clear Trajectory
Set clear goals for why performing at Ireland Music Week aligns with your realistic career trajectory and what you hope to achieve from it. Highlight how the event’s focus on emerging artists and industry connections makes it a pivotal opportunity for your growth as an artist. Tailor your application to show how it supports your next career steps, and aspirations to explore international territories.
Live Performance Experience
Live performance experience is beneficial but not essential. Having previously performed at local venues, supporting other artists, or headlining your own shows demonstrates initiative, proactivity, and strengthens your profile for performing in front of an international crowd. While live experience is not a requirement, it will help demonstrate your readiness for performing on international stages, following Ireland Music Week.
